Sometimes I Make Things: Non-Felted Slippers
It's winter! So I need something warm for my feet. These non-felted slippers in oatmeal and charcoal wool are perfect. They only took a day or so to make, too, which was great. I love a quick knit.

Time to Present
It's time for my final presentation in one of my classes. Augh! Where did the semester go?
I love to wear a cute basic dress with tights and a jacket whenever I'm doing something professional. I think it looks polished while still being cute and fashionable. The collar on this dress is a nice-looking feature, and my trusty buffalo-plaid backpack manages to look nice while still being functional. It's been a great piece all semester, big enough to get my laptop and a few books inside without being clunky or unwieldy.

Noir et Blanc
I recently bought a Kate Spade purse very similar to the one pictured here. It's the same stripe pattern, but a slightly different shape. I got a great deal on it through Hautelook. It's an awesome bag.
So I based an outfit around it. Normally I'm not too into random sayings on clothes -- make it a witty remark or a band name, sure, but not meaningless phrases -- but the more I see this H&M sweater, the more it grows on me. With the graphic type and the pattern of the bag, it made sense to keep everything else pretty simple.

Wordsmith
I'm obsessed with this tee. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to come in my size! I hope ModCloth (or the brand) decides to make this one more inclusive, because I would love to have it. Working in a library, it's right up my alley.
In the dreamworld of this shirt fitting me, I'd pair it with some nice high-waist skinny jeans and cute wedge heels. The book ring completes this by keeping with the literary theme of the top.

Outfit Post: Gray and Black
I adore my Zenni glasses, first of all. The beige color means they don't overpower my face, but they still have a cute shape and a hint of sparkle. The short necklace is raw opal, which in my completely unbiased opinion is the best birthstone ever. The long one I bought from an artist setting jewelry near the Fort Greene Park farmers' market earlier this fall. I wish I still had her card, because she had some beautiful stuff. What was great was that many of her necklaces -- including the one I have on -- are on non-leather cords. Those ankle boots I've had for a year or two now. They came from DSW. And as usual I have on my trusty teggings.
Let's talk makeup. I'm massively into purple lipstick. This one is a Revlon matte balm. The mascara I've got on here was sent to me for free from Influenster. It's Rimmel Scandal Eyes. I like it, but I don't know that I'd buy it for myself. The color is nice and the coverage is good, but the curve of the want is a bit unwieldy and too big for my taste. I prefer a smaller wand so I can get in tight to my eyes.

Sometimes I Make Things: The February Lady Sweater
The February Lady Sweater is one of my more accomplished knits. It's a beautiful lacework cardigan in a rich purple. The style is a bit swingy and flirty, but still warm. It turned out a little bit large on me, but it's still a lovely finished product.

Mad for Plaid
I'm kind of in love with this look. The moto jacket and the plaid give it a bit of a punk feel, but the bucket bag and vintage-inspired heels tone it down and make it really now. This would be a great ensemble to wear to class and look put-together and polished but still completely fun.
