A cute dress on its own is a warm weather classic. This one is especially great because it makes me think of these decorative plates my mom used to collect when I was a kid. Coordinated wedge heels and a tote make this easy for summertime office wear.

Last Days
Ah, the end of the semester. Time to be casual and cool, but still put-together and professional. Wearing a pair of nice oxford flats with skinny jeans and a flowy tank top is the perfect combination. A tote bag holds the books I still need to carry but adds an element of relaxation. The jacket is perfect to tie everything together, or just in case the classroom A/C is cranked up.

Friday the 13th
I'm not THAT superstitious, but it's still fun to play with the spooky atmosphere of a Friday the 13th. For this one, I celebrate with a sort of goth look, wearing all black and celebrating the scariest animal of all, the black cat. Depending on your local weather, a pair of black tights (maybe with a texture) might be in order.

Any Time Now, Warmth
Woven top / H M zip jacket, $24 / H&M slim jeans, $47 / Mossimo Supply Co. black ankle boots / Vintage bag / Stud earring set / Boho jewelry
Ugh, winter. I'm over it. So I'm gonna rock a shirt with a tropical photo print on it and try and think about the beach and summer.

Blizzard Chic
There's a blizzard in the forecast. Oh frabjous day. Also I have my first class of the semester tonight. Callooh callay. As much as I'd like to make myself look super professional for that, weather wins out, so I'll bundle up in a big sweater with a thick scarf instead.

The Girl at the Rock Show
I'm heading to a New Years Eve Eve concert to shoot some photos, which should be a ton of fun. I'll be seeing Plow United, who are awesome, as well as some other great acts. I try not to dress up too much for these shows, because in a punk rock crowd you're likely to get jostled and it's good to be comfortable. My usual go-to is a pair of good jeans and a t-shirt with some badass boots. I keep the accessories to a minimum, but it's December so a scarf and gloves are essential.

I Invented the Piano Key Necktie! I Invented It!
I invented the piano key necktie by reluctantlyadultish featuring plus size womens motorcycle jackets
I'm a little bit obsessed with this dress. It's so simple up top, but then BAM, the super cool piano print skirt pulls in all your attention. I love anything with a musical reference, even though I no longer play the piano.
With something like this, I'd keep the rest of the outfit simple. Plain jacket and bag, and just a pop of color for the shoes. Some opaque black tights would make this great for winter.

Time to Present
It's time for my final presentation in one of my classes. Augh! Where did the semester go?
I love to wear a cute basic dress with tights and a jacket whenever I'm doing something professional. I think it looks polished while still being cute and fashionable. The collar on this dress is a nice-looking feature, and my trusty buffalo-plaid backpack manages to look nice while still being functional. It's been a great piece all semester, big enough to get my laptop and a few books inside without being clunky or unwieldy.

Outfit Post: Gray and Black
I adore my Zenni glasses, first of all. The beige color means they don't overpower my face, but they still have a cute shape and a hint of sparkle. The short necklace is raw opal, which in my completely unbiased opinion is the best birthstone ever. The long one I bought from an artist setting jewelry near the Fort Greene Park farmers' market earlier this fall. I wish I still had her card, because she had some beautiful stuff. What was great was that many of her necklaces -- including the one I have on -- are on non-leather cords. Those ankle boots I've had for a year or two now. They came from DSW. And as usual I have on my trusty teggings.
Let's talk makeup. I'm massively into purple lipstick. This one is a Revlon matte balm. The mascara I've got on here was sent to me for free from Influenster. It's Rimmel Scandal Eyes. I like it, but I don't know that I'd buy it for myself. The color is nice and the coverage is good, but the curve of the want is a bit unwieldy and too big for my taste. I prefer a smaller wand so I can get in tight to my eyes.

Mad for Plaid
I'm kind of in love with this look. The moto jacket and the plaid give it a bit of a punk feel, but the bucket bag and vintage-inspired heels tone it down and make it really now. This would be a great ensemble to wear to class and look put-together and polished but still completely fun.

Feeling Dark
Sometimes you've got to channel your inner goth a little bit. Black jeans, a dark simple top, and basic jewelry (though, out of respect, maybe don't wear a pentagram unless you're a practicing Wiccan, pagan, or some other group that uses it). I love that big black bag; it's cute and stylish but will still hold all the stuff I cart around when I'm racing from work to class.
