Claws

Claws

There's something comfy-casual but still fun about this cape. I'd like it more in a different print (I have issues with it being called "Aztec") but the shape is great. And that t-shirt is too fun for words.

Sleater-Kinney

Grrrl

I'm going to see the 90s band Sleater-Kinney in NYC tonight! I'm really excited; it's going to be AWESOME.

To dress for concerts, I always start casual -- some skinny jeans or pants and a tee -- then have my fun with accessories. That's exactly what I did here. The floral faux-Docs add in a nice nod to the band's era, too.

Blizzard Chic

Blizzard Chic

There's a blizzard in the forecast. Oh frabjous day. Also I have my first class of the semester tonight. Callooh callay. As much as I'd like to make myself look super professional for that, weather wins out, so I'll bundle up in a big sweater with a thick scarf instead.

Worth the Price

Guac

Well, I'm breaking a personal rule with this one. I haven't mentioned it before, but I don't want to post clothing that I could not personally buy based on size. This t-shirt came across my computer screen while I was poking around the Delia's going-out-of-business sale, and it was not available in any plus sizes. I don't believe any of their clothes are (hey, maybe that's why you're going out of business...). But it would be so easy to dupe this with a plain green tee and iron-on letters that I couldn't resist.

Casual Thanksgiving

Casual Thanksgiving

I don't know about anyone else, but in my family holidays are pretty laid-back affairs. Thanksgiving usually consists of hanging around at my brother's apartment, drinking and watching the National Dog Show (which is more important than the parade, in my opinion) until dinner is ready. Once everyone has a few cocktails in them, we might play some Cards Against Humanity.

There's no reason to dress up, so I usually opt for something casual and comfortable. Those Old Navy sweatpants are a dream -- especially with that waistband after dinner -- and the ModCloth t-shirt is comfortable but still looks cute. The boots are, unfortunately, a necessity in case that forecasted snow turns up. The tote bag will nicely carry all the things I need (books, knitting) to ignore everyone when I've reached an overload of human interaction.

It's stuffing time.
